May 2013

May has brought some great news for Twin Willows Farm

First of all, my vet did the 30 day check on Roanne and Keepsake and both are still in foal, to Furst Nymphenburg and Sir Gregory respectively!

Also, three of my Twin Willows Farm horses had great success competing in their first shows of the season, all in the same weekend (May 18-19).  Angela Dion and Alibi TWF (pictured below) received two first place finishes at Training Level and ended up with the High Score Award at the DVCTA Dressage Show in PA.  Amy Chipman and Sadira TWF received a 78.8 in their 4 year old Young Horse Class. They also scored a 77% at First Level for a total of 3 firsts and 1 second place, ending up with the Reserve High Score at the Potomac Valley Dressage Show.  Radka Heineman and San Jaco TWF won the Oldenburg GOV Breed Class with a score of 80% and ended up as Grand Champion of the Rosinburg Spring Dressage Show in Lexington, VA. (see OHBS article)  Congratulations to you all!

OHBS Gelding San Jaco TWF Collects More Titles

(Following write-up courtesy Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society)

Congratulations to Radka Heineman on the continued success of her 2010 OHBS gelding San Jaco TWF by Jazz out of Sofie by Stedinger/ Rosier. He recently attended his first show of the season, Lexington Spring Dressage in Virginia, and captured a nice score of 76.20% in the Colt/Gelding 3 year old class. He improved from there, moving up through the classes to capture the Grand Championship of the show. He also secured first place in the German Oldenburg class out of six horses with a wonderful score of 80.00%. San Jaco TWF was bred by Laureen Megan of Twin Willows Farm in Virginia and his owner Radka states that “I could not be happier with our results as I was handling him.” San Jaco TWF is now qualified for the East Coast Colt/Gelding Championships at Dressage at Devon.

March 2013

Twin Willows Farm Has Two New Foals!  I am so happy with how these two breedings turned out.  Both fillies are all I hoped for.  They are for sale at $12,500 each, which includes board until weaning and inspection.  Call or email.

Lincara TWF, a bay filly by Lantinus (Landadel/Argentinus) out of Roanne TWF (Rosenthal/Stedinger), was born on March 16th.
Linnie has a beautiful head and lots of chrome (four white socks with a star and snip).  She'll be registered with the Oldenburg GOV.

Two days later, Rakel TWF was born, a bay filly by Rubignon (Rubenstein/Donnerhall) out of Keepsake (Fidertanz/Schampus).  Rakel (rah-kell) is a lovely, long-legged filly with lots of bone.  I plan to present her dam Keepsake to the American Hanoverian Society.  Rakel can be registered with either the AHS or GOV.

Sofie Heads to the Sunshine State

Congratulations to Lynn on the purchase of our wonderful Oldenburg mare Sofie. She has a wonderful new home with Lynn in Florida and will be continuing her training as a hunter.  Good luck, Sofie and Lynn!

2013 Rubignon and Landtinus Foals Due Soon!

Keepsake (left in photo) and Roanne TWF are waiting to have their first foals, anytime within the next two weeks.  (They're also waiting for winter to end; note snow flurries in photo.)  Roanne  (Rosenthal/Stedinger) is carrying a foal by Landtinus (Landadel/Argentinus) and Keeper's (Fidertanz/Schampus) foal is by Rubignon (Rubenstein I/Donnerhall). Both foals will be available for sale, so stay tuned.

Twin Willows Farm Horses Shine in the 2012 Competition Season

[The following article appeared on the Oldenburg Horse Breeders' Society's Facebook page.]

Congratulations to Amy Chipman and her 2009 OHBS-GOV mare
Sadira TWF who had a fantastic 2012 season, sweeping the High Score Championship titles at four out of five shows entered! They recently capped off the season by winning the Training Level VADA/Nova Schooling Show Championship at Morven Park, VA on November 11 with an impressive High Score of 75.20%. Sadira TWF is sired by Starlight out of Revlon by Routinier/Tarim and was bred by Laureen Megan of Twin Willows Farm. Looking ahead to 2013, Amy and Sadira TWF have their sights set upon the FEI Young Horse 4 Year Old Classes.

Another Twin Willows Farm horse shone in 2012. The 2009 OHBS-GOV gelding Alibi TWF enjoyed success at both Hunter Jumper and Dressage shows, finishing the season at Dressage at Devon, where he and owner Angela Dion received a Sixth Place in the Three Year Old Colts/Geldings class and a third place finish in the Materiale under saddle class. Alibi TWF is sired by Apiro out of Pavones by Bon Point xx/Roi Danzing xx and was bred by Laureen Megan of Twin Willows Farm. Alibi TWF was awarded Premium status and the title Foal of Distinction at his OHBS-GOV foal inspection in 2009.

Finally, Radka Heineman’s lovely 2010 OHBS-GOV gelding San Jaco TWF by Jazz out of Sofie by Stedinger/Rosier, who had a wonderful first show season. In May he attended the Lexington Spring Dressage show in Virginia. He was the Reserve Grand Champion and won the GOV IBC class and in August he won his 2 year old colt/gelding class and was the Reserve Colt/Gelding Champion at Labor of Love breed show in Raleigh, NC. He twice earned his qualification for Dressage at Devon's GAIG/USDF Colt/Gelding Championship class and on September 25, 2012 he secured a sixth place finish in the very competitive Final Class. He was handled by his owner Radka Heineman. San Jaco TWF was bred by Laureen Megan of Twin Willows Farm and he was awarded Premium Status at his foal inspection by the OHBS-GOV inspectors.

September 2012

Twin Willows Farm is proud that two of our home-breds did so well at Devon this year!  Alibi TWF and his owner Angela placed third in the new Prospect Championship Class, combining scores of the 3-year-old Colts and Geldings In-hand and the Materiale Classes.  Two-year-old San Jaco TWF and his owner Radka (in only her second show as a handler) placed sixth in the very competitive USDF/GAIG Colts and Geldings Championship Class.

August 2012

At the VADA/NOVA Breed Show in Leesburg, VA July 11th, Keepsake received a 76.1% in her Oldenburg breed class (3-year old fillies).  That score qualified her for the Oldenburg NA High Point Award.

July 2012

Keepsake (left) and Roanne TWF did very well (receiving 7s and 8s) at their Oldenburg GOV mare inspections last Saturday (7/7).  Both are now entered into the MMB.

Keepsake

Heard from Angela about Alibi TWF over the 4th.  He did wonderfully at his first two shows, one hunter show and one dressage.  "He is turning out to be a double-threat!" she writes.  "He has been going fantastic under saddle, has the best mind of any horse I have ever sat on...He continues to make me laugh every day with his comedian personality."

June 2012

I am happy to report that both my maiden mares Roanne TWF and Keepsake have been checked 60-days in foal and are due in March 2013.  Both foals are available in utero.  See Horse for Sale page for more information.

May 2012

San Jaco TWF was Reserve Champion Young Horse and then went on to earn Reserve Grand Champion at Lexington's Spring Dressage Breed Show on May 19.  Congratulations to Jaco's owner Radka!  She's doing a marvelous job working with the 2-year-old Jazz gelding out of my mare Sofie by Stedinger (see Sales page).  The judge gave Jaco an 8 for General Impression, noting his wonderful temperament.  (Larger images in Photo Gallery)

I've got a couple of new pictures of Sirlana TWF, my 1-year-old filly by Sir Gregory.  See Photo Gallery, 2011 Foals.

Sofie (Stedinger/Rosier) is now at the training barn of Jane Nordstrom in Middleburg, Virginia.  She is for sale and price is expected to increase with training.  New jumping video and pictures coming soon.

February 2012

I recently heard good news from Angela, the owner of Albi TWF who renamed him Alibi TWF. Last July Alibi placed first in the 2-year old colts/geldings class at the Bucks County (PA) Dressage Breed Show.  He started under saddle last fall and will continue his dressage career this spring.  Angela says:  "He has been a really lovely boy to work with and he truly has a great personality."  (For information on Alibi's breeding, see SOLD page).

December 2011

Sofie continues her training as a hunter and
is doing exceptionally well.  See Horses for
Sale for more information.

November 2011

New filly comes to Twin Willows.  Genova, a 7-month old Dutch filly, arrived at TWF on November 14.  Nova is by KWPN stallion Parcival out of the Dutch mare Castiana Sahal.

Breedings for 2012 have been decided.  Roanne TWF (Rosenthal/Stedinger) will be bred to Solos Landtinus (Landadel/Argentinus) of Oak Hill Ranch.  Keepsake (Fidertanz/Schampus) will be bred to Rubignon (Rubenstein I/Donnerhall) of Rainbow Equus Meadows.  Both foals will be available in utero.

Sirlana TWF, a 3 month old filly by Sir Gregory out of our mare, DeCoration (DeLaurentis), earned Premium at her Oldenburg inspection on July 8 at Silverwood Farm.  The inspector, Holly Simensen, commented on her excellent articulation behind and had her trot again to show spectators an example of the type of movement needed to perform at the FEI level. (See larger images in photo gallery, 2011 Foals)

Sadira TWF's new owner, Amy, sent along a few recent pictures with this message: "I might be a little biased, but she's gorgeous! I'm a particular fan of the radar-ears. :) I'm planning to lightly start her this fall (I am DYING to sit on her) so I will definitely send more pictures and keep you updated along the way."

May 2011

Jazz Colt Sold.  The year-old gelding San Jaco TWF now belongs to Radka of North Carolina.  Congratulations!  We're so happy that Jaco, by the Dutch stallion Jazz out of our lovely Stedinger mare Sofie, has a wonderful new home.

Keepsake Arrives.
Keeper, our new 2-year-old Fidertanz
filly out of Kindred Spirit II by Schampus/Karon, an
imported German Trakehner Premium Oldenburg mare, arrived at Twin Willows Farm from Florida in early May.  She has a wonderful personality and has settled right in,
making new friends (pictured with our gelding Clyde and our 2-year-old filly Roanne).

TWF Mare Sold.   TWF's award-winning Oldenburg GOV mare Revlon, by Routinier, is now owned by Kim of Michigan. Revlon's first foal Sadira TWF by Starlight earned Premium at her GOV inspection in 2009. She had a very fancy liver chestnut colt by Benetton Dream who was given a Premium at his GOV inspection. The inspector also stated that Revlon was the best Routinier mare she has seen. Kim plans to put Revlon in dressage training and show her.
After her show career, she will join Kim's brood mare band.
